A woman came to one of the scholars, and she said to him: My brother died, and he left six hundred dirhams, and when they divided the money, they gave me only one dirham. The Scholar thought for a minute and then he said, "Maybe because your brother has a wife, mother, two daughters, and 12 brothers." The woman wondered and said yes. He said: "This dirham is your right, and they did not oppress you." His wife's share is 1/8 of the wealth, which is 75 dirhams, and his daughters two thirds, which is equivalent to 400 dirhams. For his mother 1/6 of the money which is equal to (100 dirhams). (25 dirhams) is distributed to his twelve brothers and his sister. The man takes twice as much as the woman takes. Each brother has two dirhams, and the sister - who is you - has one dirham left.
